This morning we said goodbye to Edinburgh and the aeroplanes and made our way home via Linlithgow Palace - another Historic Scotland property.
To get into the car park, this may have happened*: We're all a bit knackered here now after spending the day in Edinburgh. The day started lazily enough (it is the holidays after all!), before we stepped up a gear and caught the bus into the city centre. We made good use of our Historic Scotland memberships and went to the castle, which was great to see. The girls had great fun exploring, especially in the cellars where they ran about with their torches and discovered exciting things. That's us used the value of the memberships now, so anything we visit between now and November is a freebie.
We're in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Caravan Club Site for the next few days, taking advantage of the February school holidays and a Caravan Club special offer - children stay for 1p! We arrived in driving rain but thankfully after lunch the sun came out and we made it down to the shore, which is just a few minutes walk from the site. There was shell collecting aplenty.
I posted ages ago (last year!) that I was making new curtains for Hans to replace the beige nylon ones that he arrived to us with. They were finished for our Christmas trip but I realised this morning that I hadn't made an official post about his new look! Along with some £3 cream throws from Ikea, we're rather chuffed with how he looks now. Next step are some covers for the front seats as they're still sporting their pub carpet-esque multicolouredness. Bleugh.
Anyway, I present to you - Hans! |
