Our initial plans for visiting Bodensee (or Lake Constance, as it is also known) involved a trip to the Zeppelin museum at Friedrichshafen and an overnight stay at a local stellplatz. But the weather was just too lovely to be inside, so we continued on to Meersburg instead. We were so glad we did, Meersburg is simply stunning. We found a stellplatz up the hill and wandered into town. Meersburg has a ferry the crosses the lake to Konstanz so we hopped aboard along with a travelling circus and sailed in the sunshine to the other side. There we jumped on a bus and were soon in Konstanz. Sadly, we soon wished we hadn't as we found Konstanz rather dirty and grimy. It seemed as shame as it could be a lovely town. The harbour is pretty but other than that we found ourselves wandering around looking for something to see and didn't find it. So we went back for the bus and sailed back to Meersburg, where we had a brilliant dinner of currywurst in the evening sunshine. There's so many beautiful lakes in Germany - we've visited a few of them.
