Cesky Krumlov is a town that you may never have heard of. We hadn't, before we started researching where to visit in the Czech Republic. But after visiting, you wonder why on earth you hadn't! ![]() We booked into Camping Chvalsiny in a nearby town, which boasted a swimming pool, play areas, farm animals and loads of space for running around. It was everything we hoped it would be and the owners were lovely. Sadly, as we drove onto our huge pitch, a huge thunderstorm rolled overhead and we had to sit and wait nearly an hour till it stopped! The girls were itching to get into the pool and I was desperate for a cup of tea but there wasn't much we could do. As soon as it was over, the girls were away playing and Tommy and I got settled in. The swimming pool was a bit too cold for me but the other three were soon splashing about and having the time of their lives. Next morning we had planned on getting the bus into Cesky Krumlov but when we enquired to when it was, we discovered it was hours from then. So we got a taxi instead, which turned out to be a good thing as there was some serious traffic on the main road and our driver was able to avoid most of it by using the back roads. So it cost us around £20 but saved us loads of time. We love exploring old medieval towns. See where else we've been to below.
