By the time we arrived in Prague, we had spent all our time on stellplatz type sites and we were in serious need of a proper campsite. Thankfully, Tommy had booked us in to Camping Dana in the outskirts of Prague and it was exactly what we needed! A lovely pitch in the shade of an apple tree. Bliss. We arrived at lunch time and quickly got ourselves set up but we were in no hurry to go anywhere. The girls found somewhere to play and we relaxed for a couple of hours, enjoying the company of a Canadian couple who were pitched just behind us. The campsite owners were extremely helpful, and more than happy to add extras like tram tickets, ice creams and washing machine usage to our bill, rather than try to sort out change in Czech money. The tram stop into the city was just at the end of the street and it was a quick and pleasant ride into town. We did the obligatory walk over Charles Bridge, which was just as busy as we expected it would be, then took a wander around the old town and Wenceslas Square. Tommy wasn't feeling the best, so we decided to call it quits at this point and start again fresh in the morning. After a good nights sleep we were all feeling ready for anything and spent the entire day trekking the length and breadth of Prague, all around the castle and its gardens, the hilly park area and back across the river and around the old town again. It just shows what a decent sleep can achieve! We had a fabulous lunch too, in an old restaurant near the castle, where Tommy and I feasted on goulash and the girls devoured Czech sausages and chips. Tommy even had enough energy on our return to Hans to head back out again with his drone and get this snap of the cool bridge just down the road. There's a lot more to Prague than the Charles Bridge! We love exploring cities - see where else we've been.
