This year's October half term holiday found us in the south of the Lake District, at the Haven Lakeland park. After our awful trip to Haven Craig Tara two years ago, we vowed not to stay at another Haven but since this trip was only costing us £8 a night (including electricity, shower facilities and use of the swimming pool and clubhouse), we decided if it was that bad we could just leave! To our delight, it turned out not only to be great value but good fun too. The girls had masses of fun in the swimming pool and as the weather was good we managed lots of walking and exploring. We also took a visit to Grange-over-sands on the train, and enjoyed the Victorian town very much. All in all, a very enjoyable trip for a grand total for £32. We've paid more than that per night before. Coming home, we took our time and enjoyed the ride. You don't travel fast in an old Mercedes Hymer but you do travel with style.
