Our big summer trip is finally here! This year, we're taking advantage of this wonderful weather that we currently have in the UK and are touring the Yorkshire coast before heading further south for Atomic festival in Northamptonshire. First stop for us was near Haltwhistle in Northumberland, at the Hadrian's Wall Caravan and Camp Site. As it's name suggests, this site is very close to Hadrian's Wall and as a result is very busy with walkers and backpackers. It was a good pitstop but not a particularly relaxing site. Very pretty though, and the ducklings kept us entertained for hours. Tommy wasted no time in heading for the hills to get some photos while the girls and I chilled at the campsite. He appeared back some hours later, hot and sweaty and with this lovely photo of Sycamore Gap. The next morning we set off bright and early, down the A1 then zigzagging across country to get to our lunchtime stop - Saltburn-by-the-Sea. We knew it would be busy, being a sunny Sunday in July, but we were unprepared just HOW busy this little Victorian seaside town would be. It was heaving! After giving up hope of a space on the seafront, we parked up on a side street and grabbed a quick sandwich before going for a stroll along the promenade. It was absolutely glorious - the sun was shining, the sea was a gorgeous colour of blue and there was a tractor rally on the beach which the girls just loved. It's a lovely town and we've already decided that we'll visit again and stay nearby so we can make the most of the area. After a walk along the beach, we headed back to Bodhi and set off for the final stop of the day - Whitby. The north east of England is one of our favourite places to visit.
