Last weekend, we took advantage of the fabulous September weather and a completely free weekend and booked ourselves into the Caravan Club's Maragowan site, which is just outside Killin. It's in a beautiful location on the banks of the river Dochart, around a 15 minute walk from the centre of Killin. We set ourselves up on pitch 79 and while the girls played outside and I got the dinner on, Tommy sneaked away to check the lay of the land - and to have a sneaky pint. On his return, we munched down dinner and got ready for bed. There was no internet for a film - and no heating either! We suspected the same fuse that had blown at New Year was at fault again, so we switched it to gas, double checked the carbon monoxide alarm and settled down for a quiet night of magazines and knitting. Next morning, we got to the bottom of our boiler problem. That pesky switch! Anyway, we were just glad it was working again. It wasn't long before we were settling off for a stroll into Killin to see the famous Falls of Dochart. The girls had a ball hopping and skipping about in the rocks. It was lovely to see them enjoying themselves so much! After the falls, we took a short walk to a nearby stone circle, where Tommy braved some bullocks to get some close ups. Next up was a hot chocolate at the Falls of Dochart Inn. What a life these two little piggies have! Back at the site, there was plenty more time for some serious playing for the girls with some new friends while Tommy and I chilled. The next day, after leaving the site, we stopped off at the new Inveruglas viewing platform for a look round and a spot of lunch. That's the beauty of a motorhome - every stop is a new adventure! The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is a stunning part of the world.
