Fresh from our Callander break, we took the opportunity of the good weather to have our first day out with our new National Trust for Scotland membership. We've been missing our Historic Scotland membership and the opportunities it gave us for great value days out, so Tommy organised the NTS family membership for £69 for the year and away we go again! Our first visit was to Hill House in Helensburgh, just a short drive from our house and the nearest NTS property. It's a beautiful house designed by Charles Rennie Makintosh and his wife Margaret and is well worth a visit. The interior design of the house is breathtaking and the girls loved all the little details included in ordinary objects that made them extra special. There was a kids' activity which kept them engrossed and looking around them the whole time we were there, which is saying something for our Tornados! Sadly there's no photos as there's a strict 'no photo' policy inside the house. The sun was still shining when we left and Tommy got some great photos outside. It's well worth a visit if you're a member, and coupled with some lunch in Helensburgh, it's a good day out. See where else we visited using our National Trust membership.
